New postcodes among regional NSW’s most popular suburbs

WAGGA Wagga, Port Macquarie, and Tamworth are among the regional towns in the top 10 list of New South Wales’ most popular suburbs.
That’s according to the latest data from Prop tech firm InfoTrack’s Property Market Update, listing the suburbs with the highest sales volumes from 1 January – 31 March 2025.
The 2650 postcode featuring East Wagga Wagga and surrounds, 2444, which includes the Port Macquarie area, and greater Tamworth were among the locations on the list for the first time.
InfoTrack Head of Property Australia Lee Bailie said buyers were expanding their radius beyond Greater Western Sydney.
“We’ve seen growing popularity for regional centres right across the state, from Tamworth to Wagga to Port Macquarie,” he said.
“We’re seeing a trend of house buyers increasingly exploring outer-metro and regional areas, thanks to their growth potential, more accessible price points, and the lifestyles on offer.”
The table of in-demand locations for first home buyers sees western Sydney’s Liverpool which once again proved dominant – in the number one position for the third quarter running.
But regional locations also proved popular.
“Once again we’re seeing regional areas strongly represented, with East Wagga Wagga and Orange joining Gosford on the Central Coast as popular locations outside of metropolitan Sydney,” added Mr Bailie.
“It’s interesting to note that the 2650 postcode which encompasses 54 suburbs including East Wagga Wagga and North Wagga Wagga, made its debut appearance in both the state’s overall sales figures and in the first home buyer category.”
The top three suburbs for overall sales remained consistent to last quarter’s results – with 2765, which includes Marsden Park and the surrounding area taking out the number one spot for the second quarter.
